Antarctic Mafia

I call this picture "Antarctic Mafia."  The antarctic is kind of obvious but I chose Mafia over gangster because he's wearing a suit and bow tie rather than street clothes.  I took this picture in my bedroom.  I borrowed my brother's penguin and his Kabar (brand of knife) to take this picture.  It think it does a very good job of using a low angle to show the penguin as large, powerful, and imposing.

This picture is "Illegal Literature!"I took this picture in my living room.  I used a toilet paper tube and some string to make a scope and took a picture through it.  It demonstrates framing by causing you to focus on my brother and what he's doing.

Rainbow Tiger

This is a picture of a Viking round shield that I made on top of a blanket my grandma made for me.  I used Gimp to hide some of the battle scars.  Rainbow Tiger displays bad background because the bright colors distract from the Viking round shield.

Arctic Border Patrol

This is a picture of me (I used a tripod and self-timer again) in a WWI trench I dug a few years back.  This shows good background because there is nothing that pulls the eye away from my face.

I took this picture on my kitchen table.  There is a definite pattern of chocolate chip cookies but the pattern is  broken by the rebel in the corner who went and got himself bitten.

I took this picture in my front yard on a very cold morning after running home from seminary.  The tip of the branch isn't really that color, I couldn't persuade my camera to capture its real color.  This picture demonstrates asymmetry with lines going everywhere and all of the branches are covered in little ice spikes.

This picture uses leading lines to pull the viewer's attention to the top left hand corner.  Since there is nothing there the viewer will return their focus to the keys nearest the camera before their attention eventually follows the lines back into the corner.  It's an accidental cycle.

This picture uses both symmetry and balance.  There is a horizontal line of symmetry near the middle and Twitter (the parakeet) balances out the clementine.  I wish I could have put something in the top right hand corner though to balance out the window and lamp.  Maybe I should have used a pineapple instead of a clementine.  That might have fixed it.
